Ms.Tobias and Ms.Witherspoon

This past Wednesday at dialysis I was sitting waiting to be taken back to begin my session and something happened in the waiting room. There were two elderly ladies waiting along with me, Ms. Tobias and Ms. Witherspoon. They were talking about how dialysis had been treating them and some different side effects it was having on them and some other issues that were going on.

Then Ms. Witherspoon broke down seemingly out of nowhere and began to just sob about being a burden to her family. Ms. Tobias didn’t even hesitate, she jumped out of her seat and ran over to Ms. Witherspoon and just hugged her. She said “It’s all going to be okay.” Then Ms. Witherspoon calmed down and started talking about what she wanted for lunch.

Both Ms. Tobias and Ms. Witherspoon are over 60, which means that they will more than likely be on dialysis for the remainder of their lives. They both know that everything more than likely won’t be okay, but in that moment that didn’t matter. When Ms. Witherspoon heard that Ms. Tobias still had hope, she started to gain some again too. Even when you have nothing left, there is always hope. “Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us…” Rom. 5:5 AMP.

  1. The scriptures leading up to our favorite verse are beyond powerful. I promise – the WORD WILL SUSTAIN you through this, #1 Grandson. I’m proud of you. ❤

Romans 5:2 "Through Him we also have access by faith into this remarkable state of grace in which we firmly and safely and securely stand. Let us rejoice in our hope and the confident assurance of experiencing and enjoying the glory of our great God, the manifestation of His excellence and power. And not only this, but with joy let us exult in our sufferings and rejoice in our hardships, knowing that hardship (distress, pressure, trouble) produces patient endurance; and endurance, proven character (spiritual maturity); and proven character, hope and confident assurance of eternal salvation. 5 Such hope in God’s promises never disappoints us, because God’s love has been abundantly poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us."
